Covid-19 cases surge again in Mandalay

Covid-19 cases are surging again in Mandalay city with hospitals filled with patients, according to local aid organizations.

The Ministry of Health reported that the city of Mandalay seen a surge again in Covid-19 cases with some deaths.

Today (February 18) our organization helped with the cremation of three people who died of Covid-19 at Mandalay General Hospital. Mandalay has seen increased cases and some deaths these days. Many hospitals are being overwhelmed by Covid-19 patients, said an official from Parahita Min Gaung search and relief organization.

After the third wave of Covid-19, Mandalay saw cases decrease till January. But cases have increased again in February.

From February 1 to 17, there were over 500 cases and some deaths in Mandalay District, according to social aid organizations.

Currently, Covid patients are being sent to Mandalay General Hospital, Kandaw Nadi Hospital and Mandalay University of Traditional Medicine as well as some private hospitals.
