During one month of this fiscal year, the exports of the CMP sector have increased by 60 per cent, according to Ministry of Commerce.

From October 1 to 26 of 2018-2019 FY, the export earnings of CMP sector raked in US$ 948.104 million, up 365.150 million compared with the same period last year.

Myanmar’s major export items are agro products, animal products, marine products, forest products, mining products, CMP products amongst a slew of others.

During this fiscal year, export earnings from the CMP sector hit US$ 487.474 million, up US$ 291.112 million or a 59.71-per-cent increase, compared with the same period last year.

The CMP sector mainly covers garment, footwear and bag manufacturing.

According to the Commerce Ministry, export earnings from the agro product sector fetched US$ 167.642 million, up US$ 38.586 million. Exports of animal products reached US$ 34 million, up over US$ 31 million. The marine product sector hit over US$ 64 million, up US$ 14 million.

Exports of forest products and mining products have declined due to a ban on exports of natural resources.

During one month of this fiscal year, the external trade reached over US$ 2178.860 million, up over US$ 380 million. There was a trade deficit of over US$ 280 million, according to the figures from the commerce ministry.
