Chief Medical Officer (retired) of Children's Hospital, child specialist Dr Aung Kyi Win has died, as posted on the personal web page of Dr Kyaw Lin, Child Specialist from the Children's Hospital.    

Dr Aung Kyi Win died of COVID-19 on 13th  January.  He was a member of Child Health Education of the Ministry of Health and Sports.      

In like manner Daw Than Than Si, matron from Hinthada Public Hospital, died of COVID-19 on 12th Jan., and Daw Aye Win Than, matron from Mandalay Public Hospital,  died of COVID-19 on 13th January.    

In addition, in early January a physician at the Hlaing township Fever Clinic died of COVID-19.  He was Dr Nyi Nyi Shin, and he died on 3rd  January. He was infected by coronavirus in early Dec. and while taking treatment at the army hospital succumbed to the disease.     

During the second wave of COVID-19 those that got infected most were health workers,so that at least thousands of health workers were infected
