Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) General Kyaw Swar Lin and the Indian Army (3rd Corps) General Office Commander Lieutenant General AS Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM met at the Park Royal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on the evening of January 16.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between the two militaries on border security, stability, and rule of law, as well as ways to further strengthen bilateral friendship.
After the meeting, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) and the Indian Army (3rd Corps) Commander took a group photo with the attendees and presented with souvenirs.
The meeting was attended by the senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, along with the Commander of the Indian Army (3rd Corps), senior officers from the Indian Army and the Indian Military Attaché to Myanmar, Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill.
Then, the 78th Army Day commemoration ceremony of India was held on the evening of January 16 at the Park Royal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw, and was attended by General Kyaw Swar Lin and his wife.
Then, the 78th Army Day ceremony of India was inaugurated with the National Anthem of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the National Anthem of India, and a video clip commemorating the 78th Indian Army Day was shown, and the Indian Military Attaché to Myanmar, Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill, explained the plans for India-Myanmar defence cooperation.
Then, the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Abhay Thakur and Lieutenant General AS Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM delivered their felicitation speeches, while General Kyaw Swar Lin, the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, and the Commander of the 3rd Corps of the Indian Army cut the cake to commemorate India’s 78th Army Day, posed for a group photo and presented gifts. The Indian Ambassador to Myanmar hosted a dinner for the attendees.
The event was attended by General Kyaw Swar Lin and his wife, senior military officers and their wives from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Army, officials from the Indian Embassy in Myanmar, and invited guests.
