Chairman of SAC Senior General Min Aung Hlaing discusses Myanmar’s peace process with India’s deputy national security adviser

Chairman of SAC Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by deputy national security adviser of India Mr. Vikram Misri at the SAC Chairman’s office in Nay Pyi Taw on October 14.

Mr. Vikram Misri is currently in Myanmar to attend the 8th Anniversary of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement-NCA.

The Senior General thanked the delegation led by deputy national security adviser of India Mr. Vikram Misri for attending the 8th Anniversary of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement-NCA which plays a vital role in Myanmar peace process.

The Senior General and the Deputy National Security Adviser to India frankly exchanged views on further plans of India to give a helping hand to the peace process of Myanmar and its firm belief in NCA in addition to the political progress of Myanmar and the need for further improvement of bilateral trade and investment between Myanmar and India.

The Senior General highlighted endeavours for the development of the country and forging peace and stability, building the Union based on democratic and federal systems, cooperation with India in peace and stability measures in border regions, and progress of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

It was also attended by SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo and SAC member Union Minister for Home Affairs and Chairman of National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae. The Deputy National Security Adviser to India was accompanied by Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Vinay Kumar and officials.
