CBM sells US$3 m through the online trade platform for exporters and importers

A total of three million dollars were sold through the online trade platform for exporters and importers on March 29, announced the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM).

On March 25, the CBM sold foreign currencies, and sold five million Chinese yuan and 50 million Thai baht, excluding dollars.

On March 15, the CBM sold five million dollars through the online trade platform. On March 11, 50 million Thai baht were sold in the foreign currency market.

The CBM sold seven million Chinese yuan and 12 million Thai baht on March 5 to exporters and importers in the foreign currency market through the online trade platform, 10 million dollars and 200 million baht in the foreign currency market on March 4, 10 million dollars in the foreign exchange market on February 27, 8 million dollars and 200 million Thai baht in the foreign exchange market on February 26, 8 million dollars and 200 million Thai baht in the foreign currency market on February 19, 9 million dollars and 200 million Thai baht in the foreign currency market on February 15, 5.38 million dollars in the foreign currency market on February 14,  8 million dollars in the foreign currency market on February 8, 11 million dollars and 200 million Thai baht in the foreign currency market on February 5.

The online trade platform was established under the leadership of the CBM due to the request from the importers that they don’t know about the rise in currency exchange rates and not knowing the amount they can sell in the market, and in order to balance the demand and supply of foreign money in the economic system. According to the needs of the market, the CBM sold US dollar, Thai Baht and Chinese Yuan from June 22, 2023.
