Yangon—The total border trade value has reached over 7.1 billion US dollars in seven and half months of the current fiscal year, up over 440 million US dollars, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Till 15 May of 2019-2020 fiscal year, the total border trade value amounted to 7.126 billion US dollars. The border trade value hit 6.680 billion US dollars last year.
During this period, the trade value at Muse border trade camp on Myanmar-China border reached three billion US dollars, down over 90 million US dollars compared with the same period last year.
Myanmar has 18 border trade camps.
Dr. Than Myint, Union Minister for Commerce said at “Myanmar Entrepreneurship Summit 2019”, “The total trade value is projected to hit 34 billion US dollars in 2019-2020 FY while the export sector is estimated to reach 18 billion US dollars.”
