The swimsuit competition of Miss Grand International 2018 was held at the Kawthaung in Myanmar.
It was held at the Tha Htay Island in southernmost part of Myanmar on October 20. Kawthaung is part of the Thanitharyi Region.There are more than 800 islands in Myeik archipelago ,varying in size from very small to hundreds of square kilometers with coral reefs and beaches.
Beauty contestants from 72 countries participated in the swimsuit eompetition.
“With the intention of promoting tourism in Kawthaung and to show the unspoiled beauty of breathtaking islands, scenic beauty and traditional culture of local people, we arrange this event at the Kawthaung. At the final event which will be held in October 25 in Yangon, we’ll announce the result of swimsuit competition,” said an official from Miss Grand International 2018.
Beauty contestants from around the world visited Kawthaung, Nyaung Oo Phee island and pearl farms. At the Miss Grand International 2018, Miss Su Myat Phoo representing Myanmar is participating in the competition.
In the final night of the competition, delegates with the highest scores from interviews, activities, and preliminary competitions to be judged in advance (top 20 semi-finals) and the delegates will be chosen top 10 finalists and top 5 finalists respectively, and the new Miss Grand International 2018 will be chosen.
Special awards such as best national costume, best in swimsuit, best in evening gown, best social media, and Miss popular vote award will be also given out with cash and trophy awards.
