Rallies in support of the military and denunciation of external interferences were held in Bago town of Bago Region and Homalin town of Sagaing Region on Wednesday.
About 200 war veterans from Bago, Thahnetpin, Kawa and Waw townships gathered in Bago town at about noon on October 3 to hold a rally in support of the military and denunciation of international interferences.
"We are holding a peaceful rally to show our genuine attitude towards the military. We are not protesting. Our war veteran organization is ready to serve as an auxiliary force in times of emergency. The present government is elected by our people. We have our own government and national sovereignty. OIC, UN and other organizations are interfering in our internal affairs. So our organization as well as all the citizens has the duty to denounce them," said retired army captain Hla Tin Oo, executive committee chairman of Bago Township War Veterans Organization.
A similar rally took place at the junction of General Aung San Statue in Homalin, Sagaing Region, at about 8 am on October 3 with the participation of about 150 people.
In the rallies, the war veterans chanted slogans that showed full support for the military, criticizing Facebook for its interference in Myanmar's political affairs, denouncing the biased report of UN fact-finding commission and the APHR report as well as lauding the success of the military the people love.
