Authorities take action on 16 filling stations in Ygn and Mdy

State Administration Council (SAC) issued a statement that action has been taken to 16 filling stations in Yangon and Mandalay for not selling fuel despite having fuel at the filling stations, transporting fuel to another place without permission and selling more than the reference price.

Authorities have found out 16 filling stations in some townships in Yangon and Mandalay Regions for not selling fuel despite having fuel at the filling stations, transporting fuel using fuel bowsers to another place without permission and selling more than the reference price. They were taken action under the provisions of the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law by suspending their licenses, and temporary closing of the filling stations.

At present, surprise checks have been carried out to filling stations, according to members of the township administration in Yangon.

In order to eradicate the illegal storage, transporting and selling of fuel, Special Forces on combatting illegal trade, security forces and departmental groups have been formed and investigation has been made. Public can be made complaints to these groups for illegal storage, transporting and selling fuel.

In November, three filling stations in Yangon have been taken action for not selling fuel, according to SAC.
