The 18th Immersive Flowers Festival of the National Kandawgyi Garden (PyinOoLwin) attracted about 60,000 visitors in five days, according to sources.
The opening ceremony of the 18th Immersive Flowers Festival of the National Kandawgyi Garden (PyinOoLwin) was held on the morning of December 6, and about 60,000 visitors have visited the festival until December 10.
The officials briefed the Union Minister for Transport and Communications, U Mya Htun Oo, and officials who visited the 18th Immersive Flowers Festival of the National Kandawgyi Garden (PyinOoLwin) on the status of domestic and foreign tourist arrivals by date of the 18th National Kandawgyi Garden Flower Festival on December 11.
The number of visitors to the 18th Immersive Flowers Festival of the National Kandawgyi Garden (PyinOoLwin) was 13,825 people, including four foreigners, on December 6, 22,407 people, including nine foreigners, on December 7, 8,563 people, including four foreigners, on December 8, 6,750 people, including seven foreigners, on December 9 and 6,469 people, including two foreigners, on December 10, totaling 58,014 people.
The 18th Immersive Flowers Festival of the National Kandawgyi Garden (PyinOoLwin showcased various flower displays that are different from previous years, and more than 200,000 flowering plants and about 40 species of flowers blooming in the summer, rainy and winter seasons are displayed. In addition to English language, the educational displays at the National Kandawgyi Garden Flower Festival are also displayed in Myanmar language to help the public understand.
Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Htun Oo and officials visited and inspected for the construction of a total of 1,900 feet of fencing of the garden leaving a pedestrian walkway of about 8 feet wide along the entrance road to the National Kandawgyi Park located in Ward No.6 in PyinOoLwin Township, PyinOoLwin District, painting of the fences and installation of iron plates on the tops of the metal fences. U Yazar Htwe, CEO of the National Kandawgyi Garden, presented the progress of the work through a PowerPoint presentation.
Then, U Tun Tun, Director of the Mandalay Region Forest Department, presented the progress of the land search for 2,000 acres of forest and tree cultivation for greenery in the north, northeast and south of PyinOoLwin. The Union Minister and members toured the 18th Immersive Flowers Festival of the National Kandawgyi Garden (PyinOoLwin).
This year’s Flower Festival will be held from December 6, 2025 to January 4, 2026, and will feature daily performances by famous singers, local product shops, restaurants, and other special programs.
In addition, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Htun Oo, along with officials from PyinOoLwin District and Myanma Railways, visited the land near PyinOoLwin Station in PyinOoLwin in the morning to inspect the land where the Railway Hotel and high-end shopping center will be built, the land where the football field will be built, the buildings and housing projects of the Yadanabon Cyber City project in the Yadanabon New Town Project, the road expansion and repair work in Wards 8 and 10 of the New Town of PyinOoLwin, and the National Kandawgyi Garden where the Flower Festival is being held.
Regarding the 18th National Kandawgyi Garden (PyinOoLwin) Immersive Flowers Festival, it was reported that about 16,000 more visitors visited the festival than the same period last year. With 6,000 to 10,000 people visiting daily, it is estimated that more than 300,000 people will visit by January 4, 2026, the closing day. Concerts by famous singers are held on holidays, attracting more visitors from near and far, and the facilities are designed to make it convenient for visitors.
In addition, the Union Minister and his team, along with officials, visited the Yadanapon Teleport Main Office in the Yadanapon New Town Project near Pyin Sar Village, PyinOoLwin Township, and inspected and coordinated the necessary arrangements. They also toured the Yadanapon Cyber City buildings, housing facilities, and roads of the Yadanapon New Town Project.
The Union Minister and his team then visited Ward 8, PyinOoLwin Township, and discussed the work planned to expand, repair, and pave nylon asphalt on the main roads in Ward 8 and Ward 10. They also toured Nawarat Road, Theingi Road, Yadanar Road, and Pyithayar Road.
