Army and KNU meet again in Kyaukkyi

Tatmadaw negotiation team led by Maj-Gen Myo Win, Commander of Southern Command and representatives of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) met at the liaison office of Karen National Union (KNU) in Kyaukkyi, Bago Region on January 10 to discuss about the construction of roads in KNU controlled areas, said Col. Kyaw Soe Moe, Spokesperson of Southern Command.

“Our discussion went well and both sides had no problems,” said Col. Kyaw Soe Moe.

He cannot say about it in details, he said.

The Tatmadaw negotiation team and representatives of KNU met at the liaison office of Karen National Union (KNU) in Kyaukkyi on December 27 and they agreed to meet again in January.

However they didn’t arrange to meet again this time when they met in January 10.
