A moderate earthquake struck Mandalay at 10:51 am on September 4, making it the second consecutive day of tremors, according to sources.
“This morning’s earthquake was as strong as the one on March 28. It was fortunate that it was shook only seconds. People rushed out of their homes. People felt very tired because of the earthquake,” said a Mandalay resident.
According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), the magnitude was 4.2 on the Richter scale, the depth was 10 kilometers, and the epicenter was about 7 miles west-southwest of Kyaukse Township.
