As the international flights are being postponed due to COVID-19, Myanmar stranded in the Philippines were brought back to Myanmar by the relief flight of AirAsia Philippines on May 18.

A total of 81 Myanmar stranded in the Philippines arrived at Yangon International Airport on May 18 at 10:25 am.  Those arriving back will have to undergo a 21 day quarantine at the specific places according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Under the guidance of the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 at National Level Central Committee, relief flights have flown to Japan, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Bangladesh, United States, Singapore, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia, U.A.E, Quarter, Italy, Vietnam and the Philippines and brought back 2072 Myanmar home. Moreover, monks, nuns and lay men altogether 166 were brought back to Myanmar from the Maldives with MAI relief flight on May 16. On May 10, 148 Myanmar including seamen and migrant workers at Dubai and UAE were brought back home with Fly Dubai airline.
