Arakan Army (AA) plotted attacks on vessels carrying iron beams and construction materials for Paletwa bridge project in Kalartan River on November 29 and 30, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on November 30.

A total of six vessels had been attacked by the AA about 9,500 meters east of Kanzauk Village on November 29, said the announcement.

Navy vessels attacked back the AA and some vessels were damaged a little due to the attack. Some soldiers and officers from navy had injuries, it said.

Another attack occurred on November 30 and the AA attacked a convoy of vessels about 4,000 meters northwest of Miwa Village on November 30 and the navy attacked back at them, it said.

The AA torched a vessel carrying material equipments for Paletwa Bridge construction site on March 16 and attacked vessels carrying iron beams and construction materials on November 21. The AA is carrying out attacks to destroy stability and area development and security forces are conducting operations in the area, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services.
