A RBE train running between Pyawbwe and Natmauk derailed on October 4 and one man and 10 women have injuries, according to Pyawbwe Fire Services Department and Red Cross Society.

The injured passengers are sent to Pyawbwe Hospital.

“When we have been informed about the derailment, rescue members from our fire services department came with a fire engine. When we arrived there, some passengers are sitting outside of the RBE train. No one died and most of the injuries are not serious. We don’t know what the train carried. We arrived here to rescue and send the injured people to hospital. We have nothing to say,” said Aung Thet Haing, head of Pyawbwe Fire Services Department.

“Our members went to help the passengers. The derailment occurred near Yonkone,” said Red Cross member Than Win.

Pyawbwe based civil societies are also helping to rescue the passengers and sent them to Pyawbwe hospital.
