A man was shot dead on the morning of November 30, in the town of Thuwanawaddy, Thaton Township, Mon State, sources said. 

The victim was U Than Naing living in Thuwanawaddy town. When he went to his car after having the Mohinga [rice noodles with gravy] at Kyaikkaw Ward, two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle. Later, they shot him, according to a local from Kyaikkaw Ward.

“When I heard the gunshots, I had to run as I think there was a fighting. Later, I know that Than Naing was shot,” said a local from Kyaikkaw ward.

The victim was wounded in his right chest and he was sent to Thein Seik Station Hospital but he died at the hospital.

Likewise, a land mine was found in front of Lin Yaung Ni Oo Library in Kyaikkaw ward of Thuwanawaddy town in Thahton Township, Mon State on Yangon-Mawlamyine road on the morning of November 28.
