A lifeless body discovered by riverside in Mawlamyine

The body of a man who drowned in the Thanlwin River was found on the riverside near Thanlwin Market in Bokon Ward, Mawlamyine, Mon State, on the night of September 5.

The victim was U Pein, aged 52, living by the riverside in Bokon Ward.

“U Pein was earning his living by collecting empty bottles and cans,” a nearby resident said.

According to the investigation by authorities, there were no body injuries.

The body was sent to Mawlamyine People’s Hospital by Yamanya Social Welfare Association. 

On the night of September 4 also, a man drowned and died while he was taking a bath in a creek by Circular Road in Oakpo Ward, Mawlamyine.
