PYINOOLWIN----Nine people were killed and injured more people after 22-wheeled truck collided with 6-wheeled Canter truck on detour road in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region, on Sunday night, according to the sources.

22-wheeled truck collided head-on with 6-wheeled canter truck near Phatswatkan village, on detour road in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, yesterday night. The Pyin Oo Lwin Township Fire Brigade Force and Social Welfare Associations carried out the rescue works. During the accident, five people from canter truck were killed on the spot and the remaining 4 died at the hospital, according to the Thandithukha Social Welfare Association.

The official from Thandithukha Social Welfare Association said that the canter truck leaving from Magway-Aunglan road and carrying 15 passengers who were travelling to a new place in search of jobs. Among the bodies, three were women.

Currently, plans are underway to send some serious patients out of seven to the Mandalay General Hospital from Pyin Oo Lwin People’s Hospital.
