79 people die, 142 injured in fires across Myanmar in 10 months

The fires that broke out across Myanmar over the past 10 months in 2021 have left 79 people and 8,210 animals dead and 142 people injured, according to sources released by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

From January to October this year, there were 1,806 fires including 721 arson attacks and 131 forest fires.

The fires destroyed 4,167 homes and buildings including 34 factories and 68 warehouses causing a total of loss of Ks32,064,332,800.

Moreover, 6,352 people became homeless, 79 people and 8,210 animals were killed and 142 people injured in the fires, the ministry reported.
