5,220 apartments to be built for civil servants by Ministry of Health and Sports

The Ministry of Health and Sports is going to build a total of 5,220 apartments to accommodate the civil servants during 2019-2020 FY, said Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe of the Ministry of Health and Sports.

“Civil-servant housing is being implemented for ensuring that the civil servants working for the Ministry of Health and Sports will be able to live in the places where they are posted. More than 6,000 apartments have been already built so far. More than 10,000 apartments are under construction. 5,220 apartments will be built in 2019-2020 FY,” said Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe.

The Ministry of Health and Sports built 1,144 housing for Department of Medical Treatment, 112 for Public Health Department, 9 for Department of Health and Human Resources, 4 for Department of Medical Research, 28 for Traditional Medicine Department, 4 for Food and Drug Administration, 71 for Department of Sports and Physical Education, numbering 1373 housing with 6,726 apartments.

The ministry built 6,736 apartments for civil servants during 2016-2017 FY and 10,377 apartments in 2018-2019 FY, many but not all apartments have been finished during this fiscal year.

The apartments for civil servants are under construction during current fiscal year. 830 housing has been built for the civil servants working for respective departments under the Ministry of Health and Sports during 2018-2019 FY. The ministry regards the 2018-2019 FY as Year of Data and Information, Year of Budget and Year of staff-housing.
