4.4-magnitude earthquake strikes near Homalin town

A mild earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale was recorded near Homalin town, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

The DMH announced that the earthquake occurred at around 8:03 a.m. on November 3 (Myanmar Standard Time), with its epicenter located within Myanmar — approximately 67 miles northwest of the Katha Seismic Station and about 35 miles east-southeast of Homalin town.

It was centered at latitude 24.64°N and longitude 95.40°E, at a depth of 10 kilometers, and was described as a low-intensity quake.
