There were 383 cases of Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever and five deaths in Yangon Region from January to July 11 this year, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported.
Most of the cases happened in the townships of Htantabin, South Dagon, Shwepyitha, Taikkyi and Dala.
From January to June 27, Yangon Region saw 39 DHF cases with two deaths in Htantabin Township, 29 cases in South Dagon Township, 17 cases with one death in Shwepyitha Township, 15 cases with one death in Taikkyi Township and 15 cases in Dala Township.
Across Myanmar, Yangon, Sagaing and Magway Regions and Mon State saw most cases. There were 1,480 cases with 11 deaths across the country from January 1 to May 30.
Till May 16 this year, Yangon Region saw 24 DHF cases in South Dagon Township, 16 cases in Htantabin Township, 16 cases in Shwepyitha Township, 15 cases in Hlinethaya Township, 14 cases in Dala Township, 11 cases in North Dagon Township, 10 cases in Thingangyun Township, 10 cases in Insein Township, 8 cases in Thanlyin Township and 7 cases in North Oakkalapa Township.
