Myanmar has found 2,674 new cases of Covid-19 and 185 deaths in a single day, the ministry of health reported last night.

The new cases were reported after 10,105 lab samples were tested from August 14 at 8pm to August 15 at 8pm.

Since the first wave of the outbreak till August 15, 3,346,965 samples had been tested and 354,279 cases reported and 13,263 dead, according to the health ministry.

A total of 271,228 patients were discharged so far after 2,488 left their hospitals after recovery on August 15.

The samples were tested in labs under the ministry, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw and all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Defence Services Hospital in Yangon, at No.1 1,000-Bed Defence Services Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at No.1 700-Bed Defence Services Hospital in Pyin-Oo-Lwin, at No.9 100-Bed Defence Services Hospital in Lashio, by a military mobile PCR team in Kalay, at private hospitals and labs and using Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in Nay Pyi Taw and all regions and states.
