227 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths reported in Myanmar

According to the information released by the Ministry of Health on March 20, 227 new Covid-19 cases were detected after a total of 11,481 lab samples had been tested from 8pm of March 19 to 8pm of March 20.

Up till 8pm of March 20, a total of 7,500,523 lab samples had been tested and 608,990 cases confirmed.

Moreover with two more Covid-19 related deaths on March 20, the total number of deaths has reached 19,425 as per information released.

On the same day, 914 patients were discharged, bringing the total number of patients discharged from hospitals to 564,660.

Lab tests are being conducted in labs of the Ministry of Health, by means of GeneXpert machines conducted in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States,  in 1000 bedded Yangon Military Hospital 1, 1000 bedded Nay Pyi Taw Military Hospital 2,100 bedded Lashio Military Hospital 9, private hospitals and labs,  in hospitals and Departments of Public Health in Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States by means of Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Tests.

In addition in Myanmar as of March 15 over 46 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered, according to the Ministry of Health.

In Myanmar as of March 15, over 21 million persons have been given two dosages,  and over 3 million have been given one dosage so that those that had been given single  and double dosages has been over 25 million persons. In Myanmar over 60 percent of the population had come under the protection of Covid-19 vaccines and this year too efforts are being made to provide protection by administering vaccines.
