20 doctors have been charged with 505 (A) of the Penal Code for their participation in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). Private hospitals and clinics that have allowed the 20 doctors to practice in their facilities will also have their licenses terminated, according to the announcement by State TV.

Based on the announcement by State TV, the twenty doctors were charged with Article 505 (A) because they "actively encouraged civil servants to participate in CDM in order to halt the nation's administrative capabilities, actively participated and supported CDM, and supported the unlawful organization called the CRPH."

The announcement adds that the persons providing a place to stay for the 20 doctors will be charged. Moreover, private hospitals and clinics that have allowed the 20 doctors to practice will have their licenses terminated: the owners of theses private hospitals and clinics will also charged with the relevant law suits.

In total, State TV announced on April 13 that 40 individuals, including MP U Nyi Nyi and Singer Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein, are charged with Article 505 (A) of the Penal Code.
