In the statement from the Myanmar embassy in Kuala Lumpur,  Malaysia,  on 3rd  March, 171 Myanmar citizens were sent back to Myanmar from Malaysia.

In the statement it is mentioned that 171 Myanmar citizens that had been in Malaysia till 3rd  March were sent back by relief flight, and that it was the 59th  relief flight that had sent back the Myanmar citizens from Malaysia.

According to the conditions laid down by the immigration department of Malaysia those holding CI must leave Malaysia within the period permitted by the Special Pass. If for some reason one cannot leave within the given period he or she can overstay for a period of seven days, and if the stay is more than 7 days one has to apply  for a Special Pass extension at the immigration office of Malaysia.

Likewise 11 persons that were to go by the 48th  relief flight were found to have overstayed the period permitted by the Special Pass, and so the Malaysian Immigration prevented them from taking the flight. Two other Myanmar citizens holding CI were found to have overstayed the period granted by the Special Pass by about 8 days and so they could not leave for Myanmar. The embassy had forewarned and has requested those applying for Check Memo and Special Pass to do so with the relief flight tickets.

In addition in order to prevent  Myanmar citizens who wished to go back by relief flight from paying  more than the cost of the flight ticket the Myanmar embassy has requested them to purchase their tickets directly from the MAI ticket sales office and the Myanmar embassy. Since 18th  February, the Myanmar embassy has started giving consular services via online appointment link-www.meklonline-appointment.com.  In the statement by the Myanmar embassy it can be reached via phone number 60-1172202791 and via WhatsApp and Email to the embassy for any other purpose.
