Myanmar recorded 163 new Covid-19 confirmed cases on January 18 bringing the total number of patients to 533,408, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported.
A total of 10,824 samples are tested between 8 pm of January 17 and 8 pm of January 18 and 163 cases were detected. One more patient died from the virus bringing the total number of death tolls to 19,305, according to the ministry.
On the same day, 150 patients were allowed to be discharged from hospitals bringing the total number of those discharged to 511,483, it said.
The samples were tested in labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at private hospitals and labs and using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in Nay Pyi Taw Council, and all regions and states.
