Myanmar reported 1,596 new Covid-19 confirmed cases on March 5 bringing the total number of cases to 597,417, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced.

A total of 24,838 samples were tested between 8 pm of March 4 and 8 pm of March 5 and 1,596 people tested positive for Covid-19. Moreover, three patients died from the virus during the period, bringing the total number of deaths to 19,386, according to the MOH.

A total of 7,237,739 samples were tested till March 5. On that day also, 1,089 patients were allowed to be discharged from their respective hospitals, bringing the total number of those discharged to 545,865, it reported.
