10 people from Rakhine State who had been in direct contact with the confirmed Covid-19 cases have tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of cases in Myanmar to 409, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am on August 21.
The National Health Laboratory (Yangon) tested 811 Covid-19 samples in the second batch for August 20 and 10 new cases were reported.
For the whole day of August 20, a total of 1,611 Covid-19 samples were tested—1,096 by the National Health Laboratory (Yangon), 160 by the Department of Medical Research, 179 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mandalay) and 176 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyine).
