The Myanmar Tatmadaw will never violate the sovereignty of neighbouring nations and remains dedicated to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Thailand, the military's True News Information Team announced on November 3.

Highlighting the long-standing "Natural Strategic Partnership" between Myanmar and Thailand across government, military, and public levels, the statement emphasized ongoing joint efforts to maintain border peace and security.

The military accused anti-regime groups—including the KNU/KNLA, CRPH, NUG, and affiliated PDFs—of actively attempting to sabotage relations between the two countries. According to the release, these groups have engaged in cross-border violence and illicit trade while spreading false rumours online, including fabricated reports that warehouses inside Thailand would be targeted, in an attempt to sow panic among local residents.

Addressing an incident on October 29 where a Thai civilian was injured by 12.7 mm heavy machine-gun fire near the border, the Myanmar military denied responsibility. It stated that it has already informed Thai military officials that its forces do not deploy that specific weapon in the area, asserting instead that insurgent forces deliberately fired into Thai territory to damage diplomatic ties.

Expressing deep sympathy for the injured Thai citizen, the Tatmadaw reiterated its commitment to upholding friendly ties with the Royal Thai Armed Forces, safeguarding regional stability, and ensuring the safety of border communities.
