Trees have fallen in Mon State due to strong winds as a deep depression is expected to pass through the region, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.

At around 3 p.m. on September 28, heavy rain and strong winds caused trees to fall and block roads in Kyaikkhami town in Thanbyuzayat Township, particularly on Bogyoke Road in Myoma Market Ward, as well as at the junction of Mon Min Road and Thayet Taw Road in Mawlamyine Township.

Upon receiving reports of the incidents, personnel from the Thanbyuzayat Township Fire Station and Mawlamyine Township Fire Station, in cooperation with relevant organizations, carried out clearance operations to remove the fallen trees and reopen the roads.

Similarly, at around 4:30 p.m., a tree fell beside the Mawlamyine-Thanbyuzayat Road near Kyauk Ta Lone Village in Mudon Township due to heavy rain and strong winds. Firefighters from the Mudon Township Fire Station carried out clearance operations after receiving the report.

According to observations at 3:30 p.m. Myanmar Standard Time on September 28, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology forecast that the deep depression would cross between Thongwa in Yangon Region and Kyaikto in Mon State within the next six hours.
