The Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has released a list of 62 Myanmar nationals detained in Malaysia who are scheduled to be repatriated to Myanmar.

According to the embassy, the 62 individuals, currently held at the Malaysian Immigration Department’s Kemenyan Camp and Beranang Camp detention centres, are scheduled to be repatriated on September 17 (Thursday) aboard Myanmar Airways flight 8M-502.

The embassy released the list to enable the families concerned to identify and obtain information about the individuals being repatriated.

The embassy also warned that it had received reports of unauthorized individuals fraudulently requesting money from the families of Myanmar nationals detained at immigration detention centres.

Family members and members of the surrounding communities have therefore been urged to remain vigilant and exercise caution in dealing with anyone requesting money in connection with the detainees.
