Myanmar’s National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) held bilateral talks on September 15 to address ongoing peace efforts and regional stability.

The meeting at the Horizon Lake View Hotel followed an open invitation issued by the central peacemaking body in April, aimed at ending armed conflict through precondition-free political dialogue. NSPNC Chair Lt-Gen Yar Pyae emphasized that nationwide peace remains vital for economic development, urging adherence to past agreements and sustained engagement to rebuild mutual trust.

RCSS Secretary (1) Sao Sai Ngin welcomed the talks, underscoring the urgent need to rehabilitate and resettle displaced communities while improving local healthcare, education, and transport infrastructure. Both delegations also agreed to expand cooperation in combating illicit drug trafficking and online fraud networks operating in border areas.

The session concluded with the formal signing of meeting records and an exchange of commemorative gifts, following a briefing by NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing on plans to establish vocational training schools across states and regions.
