Myanmar and Cambodia have signed four agreements, including an agreement aimed at promoting and protecting bilateral investment, during President U Min Aung Hlaing’s state-level visit to Cambodia.

The four agreements were signed and exchanged by the respective union ministers and officials from both countries in the presence of President U Min Aung Hlaing and Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet at the Cambodian Prime Minister’s Office on the afternoon of September 11.

The agreements cover the promotion and protection of mutual investment, the avoidance of double taxation, cultural cooperation, and a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in information and media affairs between the two countries.

President U Min Aung Hlaing, who is visiting Cambodia on a state-level goodwill visit at the invitation of the King of Cambodia, attended the signing ceremony together with Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet.

Also attending the ceremony were Union Ministers U Tin Maung Swe, Dr. Kan Zaw and U Maung Myint, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Win Than, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, deputy ministers and other officials accompanying the President.

Senior Cambodian government officials also attended the ceremony alongside Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet.
