President U Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, who are on an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Mr. Tô Lâm, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, were accorded a state-level welcome ceremony by the President of Vietnam and his wife at the forecourt of the National Assembly Building on the morning of September 5.

First, the special motorcade carrying President U Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, arrived at the venue for the ceremony. They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Tô Lâm, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and his wife, who were waiting to receive them. Vietnamese schoolchildren then welcomed the Myanmar presidential couple with bouquets of flowers.

The two Presidents then proceeded together along the walkway to the ceremonial Honorary podium, where the Guard of Honour was ready to receive them.

The two Presidents took their positions on the Honorary podium and received the Guard of Honour’s salute accompanied by the national anthems of the two countries.

After receiving the salute, the two Presidents walked down from the Honorary podium and, upon reaching the starting point of the Guard of Honour, paid their respects by bowing to the flag of the Vietnam People’s Army. They then inspected the Guard of Honour together.

The Commander of the Guard of Honour subsequently saluted President U Min Aung Hlaing and extended wishes for his good health.

The two Presidents and their wives then introduced the senior officials and representatives from the two countries to each other.

The two Presidents then received the departure salute from the Guard of Honour.

Union ministers, deputy ministers and officials accompanying President U Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, on the visit also attended the state-level welcome ceremony.

President U Min Aung Hlaing is paying a three-day official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from September 4 to 6 at the invitation of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

During the visit, President U Min Aung Hlaing will meet with the President of Vietnam and hold bilateral talks, as well as meet with the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Chairman of the National Assembly. He will also receive representatives from business organizations.

In addition, discussions during the visit will focus on further strengthening the existing friendly relations between Myanmar and Vietnam; enhancing cooperation between the two governments, parliaments and peoples; and promoting cooperation in the economic, cultural and other sectors.
