Bilin River has risen again due to heavy rainfall and mountain runoff, causing water to enter low-lying wards of Bilin town and prompting emergency evacuations, according to local sources.

At around 6:30 pm on August 26, river water entered residential compounds in Kan Thar Yar Ward, Bilin, according to a local resident.

“The rain has been falling continuously for four or five days, so the Bilin River has risen again. This time, the water level rose quickly. People living near the riverbank had to be evacuated urgently,” the resident said.

Due to the Bilin River flooding, personnel from the Bilin Township Fire Station, including full-time and reserve firefighters, along with relevant organizations, social assistance and rescue teams, and local residents, worked together to temporarily evacuate residents of Kan Thar Yar Ward to the sports hall.
