After repairs to the damaged transmission line between Pakokku and Nyaungpingyi were completed, electricity was restored to towns across Pakokku District from 3 pm on July 23.

In line with directives from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, power line maintenance crews, working together with local security forces, carried out emergency repairs to restore the damaged transmission line as quickly as possible.

A Pakokku resident said the outage began on July 19 and power was restored on the evening of July 23.

"As far as we know, a mine exploded at the foundation of the transmission tower. The authorities worked hard to restore the line because it is close to the town, and electricity was restored today. The public is the first to suffer when there is a power outage. Electricity affects every aspect of life, including healthcare, the economy and society," the resident said.

At around 7:30 pm on July 19, PDF members allegedly detonated an explosive device at Tower No. 338 of the 132 kV transmission line near Paunglaungkan Village in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, disrupting electricity supply to Pakokku, Yesagyo, Myaing and Kamma.
