Discussions focus on expanding cooperation in trade, economy, agriculture, mining, education, health, digital technology, and transport.

Kazakhstan's newly appointed Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Margulan Baimukhan, formally presented his credentials to President U Min Aung Hlaing during a ceremony held at the Presidential Residence in Nay Pyi Daw on Tuesday (July 22)  morning.

The ambassador first paid tribute to the national flags of Myanmar and Kazakhstan before receiving a ceremonial guard of honour. The national anthems of both countries were also performed during the official welcome ceremony.

Following the credential presentation, President U Min Aung Hlaing and Ambassador Baimukhan held discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

According to official information, the talks covered efforts to enhance collaboration in trade, economic development, agriculture, mining, education, healthcare, digital technology, and transportation.

The two sides also discussed the longstanding friendship between Myanmar and Kazakhstan despite the geographical distance separating the two countries, as well as opportunities to further strengthen diplomatic ties and practical cooperation.

The ambassador expressed Kazakhstan's support for continued engagement with Myanmar and discussed Kazakhstan's upcoming parliamentary elections, including an invitation for officials from Myanmar's Union Election Commission to observe the electoral process.

The meeting also explored the potential for increased regional connectivity. Kazakhstan noted its strategic location in Central Asia and the possibility of expanding trade and economic links with South Asia and ASEAN through transport routes connecting China and Myanmar.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral diplomatic relations and promoting broader cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for the President's Office U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe, Director-General of the Protocol Department U Thet Tun, Ambassador Margulan Baimukhan, and other officials.
