The results of Myanmar’s 2026 university entrance examination were announced on the morning of 28 June, with the national pass rate reaching 52.37 per cent. A total of 255,228 students sat the examination, and 133,673 passed.
The highest-scoring candidate nationwide was Ma Thiri Soe, a Science stream student from a private school (CAE) in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region, who achieved 562 marks.
Among the regions and states, Bago Region (West) recorded the highest pass rate at 59.60 per cent, with 7,072 of 11,866 candidates passing the examination. Mandalay Region recorded 28,393 successful candidates out of 45,635 examinees, while Yangon Region had 23,203passes from 46,889 candidates.
In the remaining regions and states, Kachin State recorded 6,330successful candidates from 11,634 examinees, Kayah State 234 from 471, Kayin State 1,687 from 3,660, Chin State 161 from 843, Sagaing Region 5,905 from 12,526, Tanintharyi Region 2,764 from 5,991, Nay Pyi Taw 7,021 from 14,131, Bago Region (East) 7,243 from 14,627, Magway Region 12,390 from 21,219, Mon State 5,924 from 10,542, Rakhine State 820 from 1,692, Shan State (South) 6,537from 13,383, Shan State (North) 735 from 1,687, Shan State (East)726 from 1,972, Ayeyarwady Region 16,507 from 36,436, while 21 of the 24 candidates who sat the examination overseas passed.
