Eight members of the KNLA, ABSDF, NMSP (Mon splinter group), and PDF organizations have re-entered the legal fold, bringing with them weapons and ammunition, according to official reports.
A handover ceremony was held on the morning of June 3 at Aung San Hall of the Southeastern Command Headquarters. The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Win Thein, Southeastern Command Commander Brigadier General Thura Zaw Lwin Soe, government officials, departmental representatives, the returnees, and their parents or guardians.
During the ceremony, the individuals who had returned surrendered the weapons and equipment they brought with them. The items included one carbine rifle, one AK-47 rifle, one M4A1 rifle, one SUR-M9 A-2 YSRA 1YSO1-2419684 9mm pistol, 150 rounds of ammunition, six magazines, one communication radio with charger, and one pair of handcuffs.
The weapons and equipment were formally handed over to the Mon State Chief Minister, the regional military commander, and other responsible officials. Following the ceremony, the returnees were transferred to the custody of their parents and guardians.
The Chief Minister and the Regional Commander then presented a reward of 1.5 million kyats for 3 automatic rifles, 2 million kyats for 1 pistol, 200,000 kyats for 1 intercom, and 2.4 million kyats for those who entered the law, totaling 19.6 million kyats in rewards and gifts, which were accepted by those who entered the law.
The following are the eight (8) people who returned to their parents and guardians: 1 from Kyar In Seik Gyi Township, Kayin State; 1 from Hpa-an Township, Mon State; 1 from Kyaik Maraw Township, 1 from Insein Township, Yangon region, 1 from Nyaung Don Township, Ayeyarwady Region; 1 from Ye Township, Mon State; 1 from Chan Aye Thazan Township, Mandalay Region; and 1 from Kalaw Township, Shan State (Southern).
Those who have returned to the legal system are being welcomed back, provided with the necessary support, and returned to their parents and guardians. It is understood that there are still many people who wish to return to the legal system. Those who wish to return to the legal system should contact the nearby district and township administrative bodies, military camps, and police stations and report them. They will be welcomed and provided with the necessary support, and rewards will be given for weapons/ammunition.
