Passengers departing on both domestic and international flights will face enhanced screening procedures at airports starting today (April 9), according to a statement released by Myanmar Airways International (MAI).

Beginning April 9, 2026, airport authorities at international airports will intensify the verification of passenger information for all outbound domestic and international flights.

MAI advised Myanmar citizens to ensure that their personal identification details are accurately entered when booking flight tickets. It also noted that more thorough checks of identification documents will be conducted at check-in counters.

To avoid delays and disruptions to travel plans, passengers are strongly encouraged to arrive at the airport well in advance of their scheduled departure time, allowing sufficient time for the additional screening procedures.
