DMH forecasts daytime temperatures 1.5°C above March average in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and other regions

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has issued a statement stating that the day time temperature in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, lower Sagaing and Ayeyawady regions may be 1.5°C or more above the average temperature for March during the second ten days of March.

According to the statement, weather will be partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and a few clouds over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain or thundershowers will be above normal in upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, eastern Shan States, below normal in Mandalay, west Bago, Magway, lower Sagaing regions and Rakhine State and about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, east Bago, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, northern and southern Shan states.

Rainy days are expected about 4 to 5 days in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, eastern Shan states, about 2 to 3 days in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, east Bago, upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, northern and southern Shan states and about 1 day in Mandalay, west Bago, Magway, lower Sagaing regions and Rakhine State.

Day temperature will be 1.5°C above normal of March average temperatures in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, lower Sagaing, Ayeayawady regions and about normal of March average temperatures in upper Sagaing, Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan states.

Foggy days will be expected about 5 to 7 days in Yangon, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Mon, eastern Shan states, about 2 to 4 days in upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, northern and southern Shan states and 1 day in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, lower Sagaing regions and Kayah State.
