One dead, nine injured as passenger bus overturns on Loilem-Namhsan Pyidaungsu Highway

A passenger vehicle overturned and fell into a ravine on the Loilem-Namhsan Pyidaungsu Road in Shan State, killing one person and injuring nine, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD).

The incident occurred at around 10 am on January 17, when a passenger vehicle overturned and fell into a ravine between mileposts (177/1) and (177/2) on the Loilem-Namhsan Pyidaungsu Road in Namhsan Township, Shan State. Upon receiving reports that a passenger vehicle had overturned and fallen into a ravine, one fire engine from the Loilem District Fire Station and one fire engine from the Namhsan Township Fire Station were dispatched to carry out rescue operations.

Out of the 11 people on board, three men and six women were injured in the accident, and one man died.

The deceased and injured were taken to the Loilem District General Hospital by an ambulance from the Loilem District Fire Station, an ambulance from the Namhsan Township Red Cross Society and an ambulance from the Mountain Youth Charity Association.
