The Myanmar-Belarus Economic Forum was jointly organized by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, UMFCCI and BelCCI, at the LOTTEE Hotel in Yangon to promote economic and investment activities between the two countries on November 27and 16 agreements on economic cooperation between the two countries were signed.
The event was attended by Union Ministers of Myanmar, Dr. War War Maung, U Min Naung, Dr. Charlie Than, U Chit Swe and Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Chief Minister of the Yangon Region U Soe Thein, Chairman of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) U Aye Win, and the Belarusian side, led by H.E. Mr. Maxim RYZHENKOV, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in charge of cooperation with Myanmar and Chairman of the State-owned Small Industry Enterprise “Bellegprom”, Minister for Agriculture, Minister for Industry, Minister for Health and the Ambassador of the Belarus to Myanmar, and a total of about 130 people, including senior officials from various relevant ministries and Myanmar-Belarus businessmen.
Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. War War Maung discussed the diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Belarus, the strategic direction and cooperation of the heads of state of the two countries, the Roadmap for Promoting Myanmar-Belarus Development Cooperation (2026-2028), Myanmar’s investment framework, investment opportunities in various sectors for cooperation between the two countries, and the conditions for connecting to the EAEU market.
H.E. Mr. Maxim RYZHENKOV, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Belarus, UMFCCI Chairman U Aye Win and in charge of cooperation with Myanmar and Chairman of the State-owned Small Industry Enterprise “Bellegprom” H.E. Ms. Nade-zhda LAZAREVICH delivered speeches.
Then, the relevant officials continued the signing of agreements on economic cooperation between Myanmar and Belarus, and a total of 16 agreements were signed. After that, a documentary photo session was held and businessmen from both countries held discussions with PowerPoint Presentations by sector, and economic linkages were discussed. The main topics discussed during the meeting were banking and finance, transportation, agro-based industrial production, and health services.
Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. War War Maung, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, and Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, met separately with relevant ministers and officials from Belarus before the morning forum began to discuss and negotiate detailed plans for their respective sectors.
The delegations led by the Chairmen of the Myanmar-Belarus Joint Committee, Union Minister Dr. War War Maung and Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Maxim RYZHENKOV, met and discussed issues related to closer cooperation on investment promotion between the two countries, Myanmar's hosting of the third Joint Committee Coordination Meeting, and further signed agreements on the Roadmap for Promoting Myanmar-Belarus Development Cooperation (2026-2028) and the second meeting of the Myanmar-Belarus Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
