Over the past 24 hours, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced that a low-pressure area, which has formed near the delta coastal region connected to the east-central part of the Bay of Bengal, has caused rainfall measurements of 5.20 inches in Thayet and up to 5 inches in Yangon (Kaba Aye). Due to this, there could be localized heavy rain in Yangon and Ayeyawady Region, and scattered heavy rain in Bago, Magway, and Rakhine State. According to the announcement, the low-pressure area that developed over the northern part of the Andaman Sea and the adjacent east-central Bay of Bengal continues to persist near the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent delta coastal region of Myanmar. It is expected to move north-northwestwards and may reach the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent northeast Bay of Bengal, the Rakhine coast of Myanmar, and the adjacent offshore areas of the delta within the next 48 hours.
Consequently, until the morning of November 3, scattered rain is expected in Kayah State; widespread rain with thundershowers in Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Sagaing Region, and Chin State; and widespread thundershowers in the remaining Regions and States.
