During a meeting with Myanmar-China business communities held on September 16 at the Myanmar Commercial Attaché Office in Nanning, China, Prime Minister U Nyo Saw urged Chinese entrepreneurs to bring technology and investment into Myanmar, highlighting the country’s efforts to export new and value-added products to both domestic and international markets.
He emphasized that Myanmar aligns with many of the eight priority sectors under China’s Global Development Initiative, offering significant opportunities for investment. U Nyo Saw assured that Myanmar is striving to create a favorable business environment for trusted investors and encouraged businesspeople already operating in the country to report any challenges in trade cooperation, promising government support through coordination with relevant ministries. He expressed confidence that this meeting would help strengthen long-term, friendly cooperation between the two countries.
Business representatives attending the meeting discussed their interest in investing in Myanmar, policies related to trade expansion, and participation in Myanmar’s development projects. Union ministers and officials responded sector by sector, with the Prime Minister adding further remarks.
Also present were Union Ministers Dr. Charlie Than, U Chit Swe, Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htain Nan, Myanmar’s Ambassador to China U Tin Maung Swe, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia, UMFCCI’s chairman and members, potential investors, and Chinese business operators already active in Myanmar.
On the same day, the Prime Minister and his delegation visited Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd Global R&D Center in Liuzhou, where company officials showcased advanced machinery, electric vehicles (EVs), spare parts, and demonstrations of remote-controlled EV loaders designed for hazardous work environments, as well as the company’s global project services. The Prime Minister asked questions and held discussions during the visit.
