The Tatmadaw has regained control of the Nawnghkio-Ummathi-Hokho-Mogok road section and the PyinOoLwin-Kyaukme Lay-Thanbo-Hokho road section.

The Tatmadaw has recaptured and controlled Nawnghkio town, which was temporarily under the control of the Palaung National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the PDF, and has conducted clearing operations to reopen the Nawnghkio-Kyaukme road section, a major route on the Mandalay-Lashio-Muse highway. Naung Pein Village, Pin Pao Village, Naung Pit junction, Goktwin bridge, Gokteik bridge and the surrounding areas were recaptured on August 29.

Similarly, the Tatmadaw has continued to clear the area to reopen the PyinOoLwin- Mogok and Nawnghkio-Mogok roads, which are temporarily occupied by insurgents, as soon as possible, so that travellers can travel smoothly and safely along the Nawnghkio-Ummathi-Hokho-Mogok route and the PyinOoLwin-Kyaukme Lay-Thanbo-Hokho route, which are important for the flow of goods in the region and the socio-economic development of the local people.

In doing so, the Tatmadaw has conducting military operation along the Nawnghkio-Lauk Phan-Hokho-Yadana Theingi mining route, the PyinOoLwin-Kyaukme Lay-Thanbo-Hokho route, Ummathi-Thonese-Hokho-Yadanar Theingi mining route and captured Kon Thar Ywa Thit Village and Satyone Village, which were temporarily occupied by the insurgents, on July 17, Lauk Phan Cement Factory on July 18, Khe San Village and In Kyin Kone Village on July 22, Pan Sone Village and Kyu In Agriculture and Livelihood Training Camp (Nawnghkio) and Livelihood Training Camp (Kaung Mu Sub-camp) on July 26, Ho Naung Village on July 27, Taw Moon Village on August 1, Na Nwe Village on August 2, Kyu Kaw Village on August 3, and Hokho on August 6.

Similarly, the Tatmadaw column from the Ummathi-Thonese-Hokho-Yadanar Theingi mining route recaptured the areas temporarily controlled by the insurgents in stages. Tatmadaw regained control of Ummathi Village, Shwe Nyaung Pin Village, Sam Se Village and Kyauk Thone Lone Village on July 24, Loi Ngin Village on July 25, Myo Dwin Village on July 26, Thonese Village on July 27, Thayet Kone Village, Shwe Kyar In Village, Upper Kyu In Village on July 29, Lower Kyu In Village on July 30,  Nam Khao Village and Taw Moon Village on August 1, Kon Nyaung Village on August 2, Ho Khe Village on August 4, Mrauk Kone Gyi Village on August 5, and Hokho Village on August 6.

Similarly, the PyinOoLwin-Kyaukme Lay-Thanbo-Hokho military column recaptured Thittapin Kone on July 1, Yat Taw Mu Kone on July 31, Thanbo Village, Zee Phyu Ye Village and Inn Ma Village on August 4.

Then, the Tatmadaw troops continued to advance from Hokho Village and attacked the insurgents and they captured Chaung Tha Villag on August 7,  Mae Hin Village on August 11,  Kon San Village and Kon Sa (prison) on August 14, Do Pin Village on August 20, Lon Khan Village on August 23, Na Kha Village on August 24, the enemy camp near the Yadana Theingi mining on August 26, and the Yadana Theingi mining and the surrounding area on August 30. The area clearance operation will continue to be conducted.

During the operation, which lasted for more than one month, there were 48 major and minor clashes with the insurgents, 24 bodies and 23 weapons and related equipment were seized, and the Tatmadaw columns were able to regain control with minimal casualties.

Similarly, the Tatmadaw columns conducting area clearance operations on the Nawnghkio- Kyaukme road section are continuing to conduct area control and security operations in the area.

During the period when the insurgents temporarily controlled these areas, they detonated mines on road and bridges, planted mines, blocked roads with tree branches, and carried out terrorist activities in villages. As a result, Tatmadaw troops are using manpower and machinery to clear the obstacles along the route and repair damaged roads and bridges, and are carrying out mine clearance operations to ensure that the public can use them again and that transportation and communication are smooth.

In addition, the Tatmadaw troops are continuing to carry out necessary security operations to ensure that the temporarily displaced people in these areas can peacefully return to their homes, the government administration can resume operations, and the armed insurgents do not commit acts of violence against the people, use weapons to oppress the people, and do not carry out actions that damage regional development.
