The Ambassador of Myanmar to Thailand, H.E. U Zaw Zaw Soe, met with Mrs. Arada Fuangthong, Director General of the Department of Foreign Trade under Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, and her delegation at the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok on 29 August 2025.

During the meeting, both sides held cordial discussions on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, particularly in cross-border trade. They also exchanged views on ways to further enhance trade activities between Myanmar and Thailand, with the aim of bringing mutual benefits to the peoples of both countries.

Currently,  at the No. 2 Friendship Bridge, which is important for Myanmar-Thailand border trade, has been temporarily closed by the Myanmar side since August 18, leaving hundreds of trucks waiting at the border gate on the Thai side to enter Myanmar.
