The United Wa State Army (UWSA) announced that it had transferred 255 Chinese nationals involved in cross-border crimes back to China during the first half of 2025.
The disclosure was made in a work summary report presented at the mid-year judicial committee meeting of the Wa State Judiciary Committee, held on June 29.
The meeting was attended by 288 representatives, including UWSA officials such as Comrade Li Yanxing, Secretary of the Wa State Judiciary Committee, Comrade Yan Pan, Deputy Secretary, and delegates from four districts and a special administrative zone under the committee’s jurisdiction.
During the conference, seven judicial departments, four district committees, and the special zone judicial committee submitted their mid-year work reports.
The report highlighted that, under the leadership of the United Wa State Party’s Central Committee, the judiciary had effectively maintained legal order, including the handover of 255 Chinese nationals involved in cross-border offenses. Additionally, disciplinary actions were taken against law enforcement officers who violated regulations.
Following the review of first-half achievements, Secretary Li Yanxing outlined key tasks for the second half of 2025, including household registration and ID card issuance, fire safety inspections and monitoring and military service coordination.
